Join us! We’re building a coalition to advance women’s digital financial inclusion in Ethiopia
The launch of the Ethiopia Coalition will take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at the Hyatt Regency at 15:00 June 9, 2022. This will mark the official beginning of the WDFI Advocacy Hub activities in the region.
The UNCDF Policy Accelerator is partnering with Women’s World Banking on a global WDFI Advocacy Hub to accelerate momentum on women’s digital financial inclusion (WDFI). As part of this initiative, we will host local coalitions of stakeholders from the public sector, private sector, and civil society organizations working on issues related to WDFI.
H.E Ato Ahmed Shide, Minister of Finance and Ms Myriam Said, Digital Advisor at the Office of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, will address digital and financial experts at the event on June 9 in Addis Ababa.
Along with high-level representatives of the National Bank of Ethiopia, the African Union Commission, EthSwitch and others, they will provide insights into the state of women's digital financial inclusion in Ethiopia and how to advance women’s economic empowerment through digital technology.
UNCDF is calling for Ethiopian civil society and private sector organisations to join a local coalition to help increase women’s digital and financial inclusion.
The Ethiopia Coalition will:
Offer bespoke trainings for members;
Fund members’ initiatives that have significant potential to accelerate change;
Work with all partners to advocate for policy and market solutions;
Make connections between members and key global stakeholders; and
Create opportunities via the boarder WDFI Advocacy hub for members to showcase their work on global platforms.
Organisations that are keen to know more about the WDFI Advocacy Hub, how they can benefit, and how they can participate are invited to contact us.
